EatMeUp street food festival hits Shoreditch this weekend
Starting tomorrow, for three days London’s leading street food vendors and a bunch of local designers will pitch up at the Red Market on Old Street to peddle their tasty and/or stylish wares at Christmas EatMeUp.
Brought to you by HitMeUp, the smartphone app that lets punters unlock promos and prizes wherever they are on the map, EatMeUp will let sellers set challenges for visitors on the spot in exchange for freebies. Can you sing the whole of Flower of Scotland? You might nab yourself a free venison burger from the Wild Game Company. Got a handlebar moustache? Why, that warrants a burrito on the house from Luardos. Download the app to get involved.
On the foodie front this weekend, choose from an award winning Chicken Burger from Street Kitchen, Italian-style meaty goodies from Tongue ‘n Cheek or a spicy Bhangra Burger, to name just a few.

Once you’ve sated your appetite, it’s time to get down to that all-important task at hand now that December has arrived: Christmas shopping. Alongside the foodie offerings, a slew of independent and local designers will be on hand to solve all your hipster present-buying needs. Extragged is a new clothing range from a girl who works at Rihanna-fave BOY London; Firmlocke make bike-inspired tshirts that every fixie-rider will covet; Demise of Diamonds make one-off and bespoke costume jewellery; and Burtonwode make gentleman’s necessities AKA that can’t-go-wrong perennial stocking filler, boxer shorts.
Christmas EatMeUp is open daily, 11am-11pm, from Thurs 6 to Sat 8 December 2012 at Red Market, 288-299 Old Street, London EC1V 9DP. Visit www.hitmeup.co/eatmeup for info. Get hashtagging with #EatMeUp
