Fancy getting your mitts on Fearne Cotton’s Mulberry Dress? Alison Mosshart’s DKNY shoes? Erol Alkan’s vinyl? Well, if you have this Saturday to spend at your leisure I implore you to pop down to Bethnal Green’s Working Men’s Club between 12 noon and six o’clock, as Oxfam have teamed up with The Music Circle to bring you it’s glitziest, most celebrity donated jumble sale you will ever find in East London.
The follow up to the wildly successful Rumble in the Jumble which was initiated last year and hosted by the lavvvvely Dawn O’Porter and Gemma Cairney (See video below) is set to be bigger and better than ever, and all in aid of raising both money and awareness for abused women in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Not only this, but it is being held in conjunction with Oxfam’s Get Together for International Women’s Day on march 8th 2013.
All you have to do is bring yourself, a bag of decent jumble, and £3 and you can rumble you’re way through the rails and stalls of designer thrift, take a moment to get your make-up done for free by Smashbox Cosmetics, and get involved with both the designer auctions and incredible raffles (see prizes here, including Field Day tickets, a Chanel bag and more). Oh, and did I mention the loaded bar?
So I sincerely hope to see you all there, supporting the incredible work of both Oxfam and The Music Circle, and who knows, you might get to spot a celeb or two for free, as well as buy their clobber.
Let’s take a moment to remember exactly why this is taking place though, and please watch the following video (although it contains extremely sensitive information so please be aware).
