I had a little wander around Covent Garden yesterday; I have a penchant for gawking at the street performers, especially the guy that dresses up as a dog in a kennel (I’m that simple).  But I did have a quick dash into the Kurt Geiger store and was, quite honestly, amazed.

If you have ever been to this branch, you will know how it deceives you in to believing it’s about triple its actual size (the place is COVERED in  mirrors) and its grand centre piece is a chandelier made from shoes (shoe chandelier, if you will).  It all adds to the fun of browsing through Kurt Geiger’s AW11 range of fierce boots and animal print horse hair slip ons (trust me, dalmatian will be everywhere net season, thank you Topshop Unique).  Obviously, I racked up about a couple of grands worth of new swag mentally.  Feel free to judge my choices:

Now, it is no secret that Mr. G is expanding into the accessories market, and with the launch of the first AW11 campaign entitled ‘Everything but the dress’ being set to hit stores nationwide on the 6th Sept (2 days before our #fashiontweetup! – read all about it here) it’s a no-brainer that Vogue are heavily supporting the venture.  And having kicked off their advertising juggernaut with a spread featuring the disgustingly gorgeous Anja Rubik, it looks like this winter Santa’s going to be shopping a hell of a lot more at KG.

I kid you not, that’s what this shoe is called – ‘Hello!’

Miss KG Hello! Kurt Geiger Hello! Miss KG black ankle strap platform heel black ankle strap sandal black high heel Kurt Geiger 2011I’ve been after a pair of black ankle strap platforms for a while now. I think it’s partly because they’re used so often on the catwalks and in look books – the platform and high heel add the requisite extra 5 inches to those already tall enough models, but the simple ankle strap design means they don’t detract from the clothes on show. I found a pair of ridiculously beautiful black suede Alaia heels, but with a equally ridiculous price of more than £700 they were way out of my league. The Miss KG ‘Hello!’, on the other hand, is well within reach at just £39 (reduced from £85). Get it in the Kurt Geiger online shop.
