Two tricky trends that have emerged this season have resulted in a personal battle to find the ultimate in styles I have never before ventured in to.  ’Pleather’ and peplums to be exact. Whilst I have been lusting over a series of real leather skater skirts for the last few months on various internet sites such as Asos, Topsop et al, I didn’t feel at ease with blowing around £90 on a trend that could potentially hit saturation point this winter. Just like my previous deliberations over the Isabel Marant rip-off trainer heels that have subsequently flooded the market (and yes I did ultimately cave) I have been holding out for a cheaper copy, a ‘pleather’ if you will, which wont make me cry when my credit card bill comes. After umming and arring over this version from Rare I discovered in the basement of Topshop’s flagship yesterday, which not only also incorporates the studded trend for AW12-13 but is also a steal at £26, I would have gone for it had I not picked out a size too small and had a MOOOO moment…

Rare London 2012 Rare leather skirt rare pleather skirt rare topshop leather skater skirt leather trend 2012 pleather trend 2012 topshop skater skirt topshop leather skirt leather skater skirt 2012

However, this did lead me to venture in to Zara, somewhere where I rarely shop to be honest, and discovered something that not only nodded to the leather trend, but also incorporated the ‘peplum’ look which has been absolutely everywhere from SS12 (and which I do not see going away).  This PU gem only set me back £22.99 and although I am yet to road test it out thoroughly, I think managing to nail two trends with one item is pretty good going…

Want to stick to hand luggage on your holiday this summer? In this guest post, Joanna Woolcock shares nine top packing tips and products for downsizing from a behemoth suitcase to a budget-friendly backpack.

Cheap airfares aren’t always that much of a bargain once you’ve grappled with numerous add-on fees. In addition to credit card surcharges, administration fees and priority boarding costs, the act of simply checking in a piece of luggage can add up to £80 on some routes. If you don’t pre-book your luggage or, god forbid, marginally exceed the allocated weight allowance, these further charges can elicit sit-on-your-suitcase-and-weep situations. Therefore, as well as doing some lengthy cost comparison research (preferably during work hours), smart packing is no longer a skill but a travel necessity. Here are some tips to help you optimise hand-luggage to avoid stowing your bag. It may seem disheartening curtailing your vast holiday wardrobe but you’ll feel liberated skipping off the plane free from a mountainous suitcase.

1. Be realistic, a week’s holiday doesn’t require a month’s worth of clothes (especially if your destination is a hot one) so take essentials along with mix & match-ables. No one can – or should – get through 25 bikinis in a week. Take a travel wash to refresh clothes and swimwear as you go. Dylon Travel Wash, £1.05, from Boots.

Image

2. Towels are normally space-monopolisers so check if your hotel provides beach towels first. If not, choose a lightweight, packable version so you don’t have to wear it as a cape on the plane (although that is an option in the worst case scenario…). This Speedo Deluxe towel was probably designed for savvy gym goers but the compact-design makes it perfect for sunbed-reservation purposes too. Speedo Large Deluxe Towel, £17.50, John Lewis.

Image

3. Embrace versatile accessories by multi-tasking your cosmetics bag. Simply empty out the contents into the bathroom upon arrival and use as a clutch after-dark. COS does lovely leather versions at just the right size. Leather Zip Bag, €39, COS.

Image

4. Keep cosy on the fridge-temperature flight with a modal scarf. The lightweight material is great for wrapping up on cooler evenings, keeping the sun off your shoulders or accessorising an outfit for dinner. Large Lightweight Scarf in mid blue, £39, REISS.

Image

5. Don’t do what I repeatedly do and throw in all available adaptor plugs from the random-items drawer and hope that all your electronic devices will be catered for. Instead cover all bases with a multi adaptor. Not only does it work in over 150 countries it comes complete with a USB port. Prong panic over. World Adaptor Classic USB, £18.14, SKROSS.

Image

6. Ensure the clothes you take can be dressed up or down. Dresses are great all-in-one outfits, are easy to roll n’ pack and can look markedly different by altering accessories. A casual kaftan will look effortlessly chic by the pool or bar. Elizabeth & James Tali silk-crepe kaftan dress, £260, Net-A-Porter.

Image

7. Whatever you do, don’t forget the liquid limits rule and suffer the angst of witnessing your posh face cream being hurled into the confiscation bin at airport security. Keep everything 100ml and under and try not to overfill the clear bag. Again, see what products the hotel can provide and keep everything else mini-sized. Essential Travel Kit, £46, The Organic Pharmacy.

Image

8. Hardly a bulky item anyway, but what could be more fun than folding down your sunnies like a collapsible bike? Great for day trips, the handy design ensures you’ll bother to pop them in their case, avoiding snapped lenses. Men’s Persol Steve McQueen Folding Sunglasses, £240, Mr Porter.

Image

9. Always a packing pain – footwear needs some serious thought as it’s obviously very activity dependent. Don’t, for example, pack promotional jelly-shoes you got free with a magazine if you’re jungle trekking. The trick is to keep to less-chunky, malleable styles such as supple leather sandals, lightweight canvas trainers and bendy flip-flops. Macarena peeptoe leather shoes, £35, Topshop.

Not only did Graduate Fashion Week deliver a whole heap of talent on the catwalks (check out our round up of the best graduate collections) but there was plenty of style savvy on display in between the shows too. While perusing the pathways of the Earl’s Court exhibition centre we found many an attendee nodding to the two of the biggest spring 2012 trends – pastels and florals. Was it deliberate? We stopped a handful of very well dressed visitors to find out.

Who: Marissa Owen, who won last year’s graduate womenswear designer of the year award. Marissa is now a designer at Marks and Spencer.

What are you wearing? Cos dress, PPQ shoes, Topshop socks and bag.

Do the seasonal trends influence what you wear? Not consciously, but because I’m always researching trends for my work I think there is a certain influence.

What have you seen at GFW so far? I saw the UCLan show, that’s the uni I went to, it was brilliant. I loved the collection with the jack-in-a-box theme [it was by Xiaoping Fiona Hwang].

Who: Lucy Nicholls, recent fashion promotion graduate of Middlesex University and blogger on Shiny Thoughts.

What are you wearing? Topshop shirt, trousers and brogues, Lazy Oaf backpack, Me and Zina jewellery.

Are you influenced by seasonal trends? Not really. I like florals and pastels anyway so I’m glad they’re in the shops right now.

What are you looking forward to seeing at GFW? I want to look at other graduate fashion promotion potfolios and see what they’ve done.

Who? Mehbuda Uddin, studying fashion at Bournemouth.

What are you wearing? Warehouse blouse, New Look skirt, Dorothy Perkins bag and accessories.

Are you influenced by seasonal trends? I picked this outfit many because I like the petrol blue colour of the skirt and because it has a retro feel. I flip through magazines so I’m aware of trends but for me it’s more about what suits me.

Who? Charis Younger, Northumbria graduate now designing menswear at All Saints.

What are you wearing? Asos dress, Primark bag, All Saints jewellery.

Are you influenced by seasonal trends? I’m definitely aware of the trends but I usually wear a lot of black and grey, like the All Saints clothes. There’s just so much pastel in the shops at the moment, but I try to wear it with my own twist.

Who should we look out for from Northumbria at GFW? Look out for Charlotte Sowerby and Emily Edge, they’re both great.

Who: Elis, from Bulgaria, studying business and management at Exeter university, currently on a sandwich placement doing marketing at IBM.

What are you wearing? All by  Zara apart from shoes which were bought from a shop called Renkel in Berlin, Germany.

What have you seen that you’ve liked at GFW? I really liked the University of Edinburgh show as they did interesting things with the business suit – it’s something I wear everyday.

Are you influenced by seasonal trends? I’m limited with my work clothes but I likes to wear flowers and colours outside of work.

Style & Then Some have been reporting on the growing trend for nail art a lot so far this year.  And there’s a reason for this.  Nails have become big, fat juicy business once again.  And I’m not talking ‘Footballer’s Wives’ style (can anyone else remember Tanya’s claws?) but rather emerging innovative products such as minx, nail wraps and crackle paint have completely swept through Boots et al.  You will be hard pressed to find a beauty brand who don’t have their own version of Barry M’s crackle varnish this season.

And although we are all familiar with our favorite designers tapping in to the beauty arena as soon as they join the Gucci Group or LVMH (naturally a way for them to reach a wider audience who may otherwise not be able to afford to buy in to their brand) it seems all our favourite high street chains want in on the action too.  Take Superdry for example.  They have recently launched a range of nail polish for SS12, and naturally the colours are bang on trend.

Superdry nail varnish superdry SS12 superdry nail varnish SS12 Superdry make up Superdry nails Superdry 2012 Superdry SS12 nail varnish Superdry Nails Superdry varnish

For example, I test drove the Pink Rose and Jade shades and for a quick fix to match your outfit on the cheap (or to colour coordinate with your Superdry hoodie!) this range is great.  My only qualm was it didn’t go on as easy as other more well-known brands, and as it is quite thick, you can’t do two coats, but hey, for a first attempt these are a positive offering from the brand.  At £6 quid a pot, it’s not braking the bank, and the Pink rose shade seems to complement a nice, albeit fake, tan rather well!

Having been in search for a functional, yet obviously unbelievably bang-on trend and AHHHmazing festival outfit since I booked my V Festival tickets way back when, I am happy to say I’m sticking to my previous declaration of scouting out the best festival finds so you don’t have to; and here is a quick update people.

Having obviously popped in to Topshop for something completely unrelated (always the way isn’t it, you wily Topshop Visual Merchandisers!) my eyes scanned a table of rainbow-dyed shorts (of which I am insanely jel of anyone who can pull these hot pants off without flashing their arses) and locked my retinas on this incredible studded bag casually placed alongside (and a bargain at £38).

studded bag topshop topshop studded bag studded accessories ss12 studded black bag topshop studded suede bag topshop perfect festival bag festival fashion topshop festival bags studded festival bag festival accessories

Now, if you are a fan of black, suede, studs and slightly watered down for main stream Goth-inspired accessories, such as those Steve Madden slip-ons I reported on a few weeks back, I’m sure you will agree on how sick this bag is.  With a long detachable strap, it’s perfect for everything from after-work drinks (as a clutch, obs) and, more to the point, due to its zip lock, will make an absolutely awesome festival bag!  Big enough for essentials (phone, money, make up, toilet paper) yet small enough that you can forget about your shiz and carry a beer in both hands.

So there you go gals and boys, and I will be road testing this beast at Field Day on 2nd June, come rain, mud or shine.  Now just to piece together the rest of my outfit…

Dear Wildfox,

I know this may sound slightly unethical, but would you like to sponsor my life?  I promise to wear nothing but Wildfox White Label for SS12 and, as i have pre-empted that you will be more than happy with this arrangement, I have selected from your SS12 lookbook the items you should send me first:

These include all your Rodeo shorts, Pony Slip dresses, and oh yes, I wanted to ask if the tan is included?  I do trust you will find this a mutually beneficial deal, and await your response with eager anticipation.  Oh, and as every girl knows, an outfit is just not complete without accessories, so I have picked out a few of these as well, you know, just to complete the look.  You know, maybe a couple of these Antique Gun necklaces to layer up, as well as this awesome Cow Skull ring.  If I remember anything else, I shall be sure to let you know…

Tilda Swinton 2012 Tilda Swinton on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Tilda Swinton We need to talk about Kevin Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann Tilda Swinton on TV

Just look: the maroon blazer, the white shirt, the black ankle-skimming trousers. Even my signature blonde undercut pixie crop – Tilda Swinton has been caught red handed in possession of stolen goods: namely, my style.

Obviously, I’m joking.

I realise I will never come close to being anywhere as near as stylish, chic or downright cool as Tilda Swinton. And our outfits aren’t actually that similar. But I thought it was kind of amusing that her look reminded me a lot of the photo of me that was taken at London Fashion Week last September.

Tilda Swinton 2012 Tilda Swinton on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Tilda Swinton We need to talk about Kevin Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann Tilda Swinton on TV

I spotted her outfit while watching one of my favourite TV programmes, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The Daily Show is a hilarious political satire series and it’s particularly good at the moment because the Republican presidential hopefuls are providing an endless source of comedy material for Stewart and his team. Tilda was there to promote her film We Need To Talk About Kevin. She was wearing Haider Ackermann spring/summer 2012, a designer she’s often seen in (she wore Ackermann to the Golden Globes last week too).

Now, technically, The Daily Show online is only supposed to be available in the U.S., but if you trick your computer into thinking it’s in America by changing some browser settings (my computer geek friend showed me how to do this, I couldn’t even tell you how) then you can watch the whole episode here. Or, watch the Kevin trailer below. The film is supposed to be really good, and Jon says that Tilda’s performance is ‘unbelieveably terrific,’ which is quite the endorsement, even for a talk show host.

Last Wednesday, Style & Then Some were invited to attend Ted Baker’s SS12 preview catwalk show.  This affair is usually only witnessed by the company’s sales staff as a way of familiarising them with the next season’s collection before it hits the shop floor.  However, this season the invitation was opened up to press, and Style & Then Some’s good friend Jessica Chan was on hand to photograph the key items which will no doubt be falling into the pages of every SS12 magazine trend report as well as in to our wardrobes.

Trends…

1.  Now, I may get annihilated for admitting this, but I have never seen an episode of Mad Men.  Despite this, it being such a popular point of reference for the high street and designers alike in recent years, I am still aware of all the characters and their styles through reading numerous catwalk reports citing it as ‘the big trend’.  A trend that supposedly will still be in attendance in SS12.  This may have something to do with Men’s fashions taking longer to evolve, or perhaps everyone just isn’t ready to let go of their Don Draper look just yet.  Either way, boys, you are looking dapper…

2.  With regards to the ladies key looks, it seems the label has pushed for an eclectic mix of styles which each, in turn, compliment the Men’s line.  So whether your man appreciates the androgynous look, or you prefer full-on feminine, there is something for everyone.  I’m talking Bow Ties, waistcoats, loose, tailored city shorts,  to fun, floaty and even Marilyn Monroe-esque outfits (THAT yellow dress), the catwalk was awash with peplums, peter pan collars and nipped in waists.  So if you aren’t a fan of androgyny, don’t worry, Ted hasn’t left you out.

It’s pretty rare that I get struck down with lust for a piece of jewellery. The odd YSL tribute heel, maybe. A Richie Nicholl dress, almost definitely. But the world of accessories has always been muddy waters for me. That was until I met a certain Mr Jordan Askill.

Horse Cuff Jordan Askill SS12 NEWGEN British Fashion Award Jordan Askill 2011 Jordan Askill jewellery Jordan Askil bracelet

I was introduced to the designer two seasons ago at LFW, where, as one of the NEWGEN recipients, he had set up shop at the exhibition at Somerset House. With his quiet determination and humble manner, Askill has had hugely successful stints at Ksubi and Dior Homme – his collections are nothing short of breathtaking.

Crystal Tiger Face Jordan Askill SS12 NEWGEN British Fashion Award Jordan Askill 2011 Jordan Askill jewellery Jordan Askill ring

Whether it’s galloping horses transformed into cuffs, or a string of kissing sparrows turned into a statement necklace, every Askill piece is delicate and sculptural. Having been nominated for a British Fashion Award this year, it seems Askill has also expanded into the world of ethical fashion – using fair trade stones from GEMFIELDS for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, inspired by taxidermy and 3D birds. I wasn’t lusting after one particular piece; I wanted everything.

Sparrow necklace Jordan Askill SS12 NEWGEN British Fashion Award Jordan Askill 2011 Jordan Askill jewellery Jordan Askill necklace

Currently designing his fourth collection, I predict Askill is somewhat of a quiet hurricane – soft in his approach and yet destined to make a huge impact.

Jordan Askill designs are currently available exclusively at Dover Street Market.

There is nothing like a major motion picture to spark off a solid catwalk trend.  I do believe this may be one of the first seasons in a long while where there’s not been any reference to Alice in Wonderland (thank goodness).  So I have not been overly surprised seeing the shimmering 1920′s influence hit the catwalk running.

Already emerging as a key player for SS12, the likes of Alberta Ferretti, Caroline Charles (as my noted colleague Sophie Caldecott has already pointed out) Mark Fast and Spijkers en Spijkers, all got in to the swing of things at London and Milan Fashion Weeks.

Alberta Ferretti SS12 Great Gatsby September Milan 2011 fashion week

It is no secret that Baz Luhrmann’s epic adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ would have no doubt triggered this trend in to place, and no doubt will trickle through in to the next few seasons as well.  The decadence and the romanticism of the 1920′s make it a powerful aphrodisiac for inspiration, and it is already clear so many designers have slipped in to bed with it for SS12.

On the Friday of London Fashion Week, while the rest of the Style & Then Some team were at other catwalk shows (or, in my case, still at work) our photographer friend Katie Mogridge went to the Orla Kiely SS12 presentation, where she took these beautiful photos of the models as they spun slowly on rotating plinths and reclined on sun loungers. The collection had a demure, almost school girl vibe, which perfectly matched the summer holiday themed presentation and the short film  by Mercedes Helnwein that was on show (you can see some stills from it below) – they even served ice cream and adorable pink macaroons. The good old-fashioned British seaside escape was also an inspiration for both Daks and Mulberry at LFW this season. You know what that means: three’s a trend.

We’re on the home strait. It’s day six of London Fashion Week and the first time I’ve ever stayed for menswear day, which they dramatically term MAN day (watch out for show reports coming soon). My outfit is basically an amalgamation of several of other pieces I’ve worn in the past week. Maybe this is a massive fashion faux pas, but you try coming up with six equally fashion week worthy ensembles in a row OK?

I also drafted in my boyfriend Alex to be my photographer. He’s wearing a bow tie I bought him for his birthday and got photographed outside the Topman show by GQ because of it. Double style win I reckon.

Where? Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Freemason’s Hall

When? Tuesday 20th September, 3pm

I had never heard of Joanne Hynes before but more fool me it seems because this show was incredible. It immediately reminded me of recent collections from Prada, Miu Miu and Balenciaga, but not in a rip-off kind of way. It was exhuberant and fun with lots of sequins and latex plus metallic and patent leather in lipstick red, neon pink, orange and lime green. Yet the silhouettes (oversized baseball top-style tunics and tight pencil skirts) ensured a sense of ladylike restraint amongst all the busy colour and texture, as did the messy Hitchcock heroine up dos (in another nod to the director the theme from Psycho soundtracked the show). The jewellery was another talking point - huge robot pendants that were fantastically fun and just the sort of thing the East London fashion pack will love.

It’s day four of London Fashion Week and with the weekend over Team S&TS is considerably depleted. Most of our gang have gone back to work but LFW continues apace for photographer Helene and I. Today I was excited to be premiering a new blazer I got especially for fashion week (don’t believe anyone who tells you they don’t make extra effort with their outfits for the shows) and I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty pleased that I got snapped by about 5 street style photographers after the Michael van der Ham show (which you can see a video of over here).

What?  House of Evolution at London Fashion Week

Where? Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Freemasons Hall

When? Sunday 18th September, 6.30pm

Who? No one famous, which is always a bad sign.

If a show is 15 minutes or so late (that’s basically industry standard) I can deal with it. If it’s 45 minutes late on a Sunday night when getting home to catch up with two episodes of X-Factor is all I want to do (don’t judge, it’s great TV) I start to get mildly annoyed. If it THEN turns out the show is abysmal, I really get annoyed. That’s what happened yesterday. Katie Mogridge and I queued outside and then got herded in the ‘holding area’ for ages only to have to stand through a half hour long show (the usual is about ten minutes) featuring three designers in which the clothes got progressively worse.

It didn’t start off too badly to be fair. First up was a harmless, at times even quite pretty, collection of billowing Grecian inspired dresses with rope detailing. Some of the bright saturated colours were lovely.

The second collection was so forgettable I honestly can’t remember what was involved, and my photographer Katie Mogridge didn’t deem any of the photos interesting enough to send over, which I think says a lot.

The third and final collection was really something to behold. Bird calls squawked irritatingly on top of the soundtrack and the models wore huge feather false eyelashes. There were feathers aplenty on the clothes too, and just in case you hadn’t worked out there was an avion theme going on, one of the models spread her ‘wings’ theatrically at the end of the catwalk.

There were a whole host of ruffly, badly cut outfits, but the finale look was the piece de resistance. The lights went down and a glow of blue appeared at the top of the catwalk. I wish the lights had stayed down because when they went back up they revealed a sprawling, open, ivory lace coat which had been shot through with blue fairy lights. It looked like a decaying wedding dress, which could have been kind of cool in a Miss Havisham sort of way, but why the fairy lights? I have no idea, which basically sums up my feelings about the entire show.

We’ve just got back from the Michael van der Ham spring summer 2012 show at the Topshop venue in the Old Eurostar Terminal at Waterloo. It was a beautifully light and fresh collection with lots of van der Ham’s signature prints. Full review and photos coming soon, but in the mean time here’s a video of the final run through.

What? Jayne Pierson at London Fashion Week

Where? LSO St Luke’s, Old Street

When? Sunday 18th September, 5pm

Who? Pandemonia, the latex blow up doll-woman who has become a bit of a LFW institution, and fashion week veteran and journalist Caryn Franklin.

I like it whenever fashion week gives me the opportunity to visit a building I would never normally get to. Today I got that chance when the Jayne Pierson spring summer 2012 show was held in LSO St Luke’s on Old Street, which I thought was a regular old church. Turns out it’s now the home of the London Symphony Orchestra, but today it had been kitted out with a catwalk. Adding another twist, it wasn’t models that walked the show but ballet dancers. And they didn’t just walk – they swirled, twirled, pirouetted, jumped and teetered delicately en pointe. Pierson, who is now in her fourth season at LFW, studied performance art and drama before turning her hand to fashion, which probably explains the dramatic production. My photographer for the day, Katie Mogridge, and I sat up on the balcony and got a birds eye view of the show, but for a show this action packed video was more useful, so I shot a few clips.

We had to venture a bit of a way off the beaten LFW track yesterday to get to the Spijkers show – but it was worth it. Not only is Il Bottaccio a beautiful venue, all chandeliers and white stuccoed ceilings, but this was a very well-executed and desirable collection.

Twin sisters Truus and Riet Spijkers took Queen Scheherazade of the One Thousand and One Nights tale as their starting point. You know how the story goes, big bad King guy takes a different bride and beheads her each morning, but clever Scheherazade tells the King such gripping, cliff-hanger stories each night that he chooses to keep her alive and, lo and behold, falls in love with her in the process. Using that premise, the backbone of the collection was a glut of silk dresses formed from black and white oriental geometric shapes in something called Penrose tiling, named after an English mathematician, Google informs me. Colour also came into the equation, delicately at first with powdery tones of jade, peach and rose, and later in punchy coral and violet. There was tailoring, too, but it was relaxed and hung off the shoulders rather in a boyish way rather than clinging to the body.

In spite of the occidental mathematical influence, the overall effects was decidedly 1920′s, thanks in part to the tassels that hung from the zig-zagged hems of those silky frocks. The flapper effect seems to have crossed the Atlantic from Ralph Lauren’s New York fashion week show, and  it’s only going to get worse: Baz Luhrmann’s remake of The Great Gatsby is due in cinemas next March so come 2012 I think all the high street stores will be jumping on the roaring twenties band wagon. I wonder if the Spijkers twins know this? If they don’t someone should tell them, because it’s a stroke of luck that could stand them in good stead next spring.

Izmaylova SS12 Izmaylova 2011 London Fashion Week Shingai Shinowa The Noisettes Made in CheseaWhat: Izmaylova at LFW SS12

Where: Vauxhall Fashion Scout, The Freemason’s Hall

When: Sunday 18th September, 1.15pm

Who: Shingai Shoniwa of The Noisettes, Amber Atherton of Made In Chelsea, ‘fro.

I’m late. I’m running down Great Queen Street after being stuck on the bridge in traffic for half an hour, gritting my teeth at my lack of luck. I’ve never been to a fashion show before and it looks like today will not be the day I get to see one. My wonderful sister’s voicemail is not offering any consolation as the minutes countdown.

I get there at exactly 1.15, and there is an immobile queue in sight.  Fortunately the show, being locomotive themed is accordingly delayed. As the doors finally open we are led in to the opulence of the Freemasons Hall, a gold and jewel coloured Art Deco dream.

I’m studying the fashion crowd, perfecting my own faux disinterested visage (I’ve already practised, I go to Central Saint Martins)  to mirror theirs as we wait on the stairs. A man in a vintage style train driver’s get up welcomes me to the Izmaylova Express, and clips my ticket. All aboard.

A few scuffles for the best view, many photos and a clock strikes signaling the start of the show. There’s a definite 20′s-with an edge- vibe throughout.  My camera’s misbehaving as I struggle to capture the pale silks, the swish of skirts and the statuesque drapery  all offset by the geometric patterns of the granite floor. Hard glances meet feather adornments and assymetric cuts.

A rhymthic moody music sets the pace for the poses, and its all over in a flash, so quick! The final clap, buzzing talk and I’m out of there.
