Today I’m Wearing: the perfect weekend away bag

This Fred Perry suede and leather bag took me from a disorganised mess to a fairly polished traveller this week – and that’s the magic of a good accessory. The weekend bag was a loan from a friend but it blew any of my other options out of the water – what you really want from a bag like this is a good, androgynous design, structure and a shoulder strap.  Obviously it also has to be the perfect size that makes it through as hand luggage but fits all your junk in too.

Plus according to Tyler Brule, man-about-town and editor of Monocle magazine, it is best to avoid wheeling suitcases around airports and carry your luggage instead. We’re not going to argue with him.
