Sex and The City: Green light for the Prequel

I don’t know about you, but all these rumours flying around about the future, or past if a prequel is indeed in the pipeline, of Sex and the City is doing my head in.  Another movie?  Another series?  Another press juggernaut?!  Having sifted through most of the idle gossip on the internet I can hand on my heart confirm that I’m still ‘officially’ none the wiser.

But wait one New York minute there, I do have something up my sleeve.  Now believe me if you want, that is up to you, but having recently been tragic enough to jump on board for the SATC tour bus in New York this Summer it was confirmed that a prequel series has been ‘green-lit’.  Now my source may or may not be reliable, but she seemed pretty sure so lets play along.  Names being banded about for the starring Carrie role include Blake Lively (please God, no) as well as Elizabeth Olsen (sister of the twins who lent her name to the brand ‘Elizabeth & James’).  And with names such as Emma Roberts and Selena Gomez (might have to check the Disney contract on this one) rumoured to star, it looks like it would be somewhat of a stellar cast.

The only problem is, it just wont be the same, and looks set to be as big a risk as that second movie was.  Maybe it’s time to let it rest in peace, no?

Half the people watching a SATC prequel will just be wondering how Carrie gets that sweet column gig when she’s so terrible at writing..
