Style & Then Some

Queen of high-end luxe: Tamara Mellon launches her eponymous line

The Queen of high heels and sparkle is launching her very own collection mirroring the new ‘throw-on-and-go’ theme of everyday effortless outfitting that we love at Style & Then Some.  The strategy appears to be seriously consumer-friendly and based on a buy now, wear now philosophy.

Tamara Mellon, OBE is, of course, the former Chief Creative Officer and co-founder of Jimmy Choo and notorious for high-profile family fallouts and looking immaculate throughout all the accompanying legal proceedings. Her style in unmistakably jet-set/glossy/Hollywood and she’s bringing some of this high-octane glamour to the masses showcasing a classic yet edgy aesthetic.

Granted the prices will still be a tad higher than River Island but the feel isn’t pretentious or elitist – more ‘investment capsule collection’ rather than ‘credit card murder.’

Mellon explained to Bloomberg:  “We’re living in a world where women want to buy now, wear now. They don’t want to look at shows and then have products in stores six months later.”  Eschewing these traditional shows seasons, Mellon plans to drip-feed deliveries throughout the year via a select few online e-tailers and prestigious department stores.

The collection is said to be filled with flattering jumpsuits, supple leather skirts, black-everything with sprinklings of sequin and animal print.

Keep an eye out on Net-a-porter.com for the first sightings….
