Pull & Bear began life many seasons ago, trading under the name New Wear in 1986. Since rebranding five years later, they’ve gone global and there are a select few stores in the UK now too (Belfast, Liverpool, Shepherd’s Bush and Oxford Street), featuring menswear, womenswear and accessories. Watch the whirling, twirling acrobatics and pouting in their AW campaign here.
As I scrolled through the New In section on ASOS, I was impressed by how far Pull and Bear have made the pennies go – because surely that’s the key to cheap fashion, making it look not cheap? True, on the odd occasion, there are slight whiffs of Primark (at their prices, you really don’t mind the a PVC skirt here or questionably bright tartan there), but the overarching sense is of the continental cool of Zara and H&M. If you like muted tones and slouchy silhouettes – and we all know I certainly do – then Pull & Bear is for you. I predict this range will be a hit with those who are just a little bit grungy.
Here are a few highlights, for your sister’s Christmas present, or your stylish Secret Santa…or you.
