Watch fitties on film for free in October with Silent Swoon cinema

To coincide with the London Film Festival, St Martin’s Courtyard in Covent Garden will become an al fresco movie theatre in October. For three nights only, the Silent Swoon Festival will showcase the works of some noted silver screen sexpots, including the Holy Grail of Hotties, Ryan Babygoose.

A cinema-sized screen will be erected and the 140 seated swooners will be given wireless headphones, plus complimentary candy, a bottle of bubbles, popcorn and blankets (because this extended summer warmth has got to end eventually hasn’t it?). Having been to the Vauxhall outdoor cinema twice this summer I think the headphones are a superb idea – I struggled to catch many of the acerbic quips during Mean Girls because the screen was so far away, and left halfway through the Big Lebowski because it was impossible to hear over the yapping bunch of youths sat behind us (the kind so scary looking you daren’t ask them to keep it down).

Here’s the sexy schedule:

Tuesday 14 October: The Talented Mr Ripley starring Matt Damon and Jude Law

Wednesday 15 October: Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Ryan Gosling

Thursday 16 October: Rebel Without A Cause starring James Dean

Tickets are free, but you have to enter a draw (each winner gets two), plus there will be some spaces each night on the door. I also like this system, because Vauxhall becomes insanely crowded and that’s why you can’t get anywhere near the sound system. And it means real RyGosaholics who are willing to take the day off work to camp out and be first in line will be rewarded with a seat in which to swoon to their hearts content.

Apply for tickets for the Silent Swoon Festival.
